How detailing differs from valeting
A valet cleans a vehicle. Detailing improves it. Where a full valet removes the dirt you can see, a detail deals with what is left behind: bonded contamination in the paint, dull or lightly marked lacquer, tired trim and unprotected surfaces.
The result is a noticeably deeper gloss and a finish that stays cleaner for longer.
Built around your vehicle
No two details are the same. A nearly new car may only need decontamination and protection. An older or darker car might benefit from machine polishing to lift the gloss first. We look at the vehicle, talk through what you want to achieve, and quote for the work that will make a real difference.
Headlight restoration
Plastic headlight lenses turn cloudy and yellow with age and sunlight. Restoration removes the degraded surface layer and refines the lens until it is clear again, improving how the whole front of the car looks. It can be booked on its own or added to any valet or detail.
Protecting the finish
Once the paint looks its best, it makes sense to keep it that way. We finish with paint protection suited to how you use the car, up to a full ceramic coating for the longest-lasting result.
Ceramic coating
A ceramic coating is a liquid applied to the paint that cures into a hard, glossy layer. It sheds water and dirt far more readily than bare paint, resists everyday contamination, and keeps its gloss for much longer than a traditional wax.
It is not a force field. A coating will not stop stone chips or deep scratches, but it does make the car simpler to wash and helps the finish stay looking fresh.
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the paint has to be right first. That means thorough decontamination and, on most cars, machine polishing to remove swirl marks and lift the gloss. This preparation is part of the detailing process and is included in the Ceramic Coating Detail below.

Common questions
Can detailing be done at my home?
Yes. Most detailing work can be carried out on a driveway. Some stages, such as polishing and coating, need dry conditions, so we plan around the weather and will discuss the best location with you.
How long does a detail take?
It depends on the size and condition of the vehicle and the level of service. A full interior and exterior detail typically takes 3 to 5 hours, and a correction-level detail 5 hours or more.
What vehicles can you detail?
Cars, vans, SUVs, 4x4s, motorbikes, boats, helicopters and company fleet vehicles, whether new, used, vintage or high-performance.
Will detailing remove scratches?
Machine polishing can reduce or remove light swirl marks and fine scratches. Deeper scratches that have gone through the lacquer cannot be polished out, and we will tell you honestly what is achievable before starting.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
We apply 3 year or 5 year ceramic coatings. How long a coating performs also depends on how the car is used and washed.
Can a ceramic coating be applied at my home?
Coatings need a clean, dry environment while they are applied and cure. A garage or covered space is ideal. Tell us what you have available and we will advise on the best approach.
Is it worth coating a brand-new car?
Yes. New paint is the easiest to prepare, so it is the ideal time to protect it.
